The people ethnic in the UK – personal feeling
Before I came to the UK, I can’t image the diversity of people here; instead I thought it was a traditional country so the people here must be sole white. Of course, I was definitely wrong. I remembered when I went down from the aircraft to the Heathrow airport lounge; I was shocked immediately because I never saw so many kinds of people in front of me with not only just white, yellow and black skins, but also vast different profiles. The profiles of people from south Asia are similar with European people, but the colour of skins is much deeper and tends to be black. With hundreds of years modern developing, the UK has become more international including the ethnic. In most of the stores, I can see people with different ethnic work there. If the buildings became more modern, I would feel staying in the USA – diversity.
Many Chinese people live here, so there are many Chinese restaurants and take-away. Many Chinese refuges work in these restaurants and do their best to make as much money as possible. Even though their salary is less than normal jobs, it is much more than a normal job in China. Few days ago, I met a person who came from the same town with me. Now he can earn as much as 400 pounds per week because he has a excellent experience as a chef and manage to arrange people in the restaurant what they should do and when. Now he has come here for about 10 years and got a flat from the government even though he is still a refuge, the main reason is that he had been married and has a daughter now. There are many Chinese restaurants and the number is increasing I think. The UK is lack of food culture and the people here don’t like to cook themselves, instead they have dinner in restaurant or pick up them. It would be very terrible if all Chinese restaurants were moved away.
